Claire is 34 yrs old, 5'4" with brown shoulder-length hair and grey eyes. She is a strict vegetarian and a history graduate. She writes poetry and enjoys acting and the theatre. She thinks Ben Elton's "Gridlock" is the funniest book she's ever read but has no narrow taste in music - she loves classical, West End musicals (particularly "Les Miserables"), most heavy rock/metal bands plus Queen and Wings. She is an armchair sportsperson who loves everything but golf. She used to play football and rugby and is a bit of a tomboy, but is straight and not butch. He also enjoys the great outdoors and country walks & fishing, although he says sometimes he feels he will never set foot in the countryside again. In prison, he passes his time drawing and painting; he also writes the occasional poem, mostly for other prisoners. He has had numerous jobs from working on a maggot farm to removal and property maintenance, hotel and bar work, being a market trader and a stone dresser. The irony is that he dressed faced the walls he now sits behind.

Graeme is 37 years old, 5'8" tall and a Leo. He is divorced with two sons and now single. On the outside, he was a self-employed furniture maker and antique furniture restorer. He enjoyed pubs, clubbing, skiing, scuba diving and regular time with his kids. In prison, he is interested in art, guitar and working out. He is also working towards an Open University degree in computing.

Hugh is 5'9", 34 (35 on December 28th). He is Scottish, though he has lived in England since he was 16, mainly at Morecambe in Lancashire. He is gay but, at the moment, would prefer not to have gay Pen Pals. His interests are art, keep fit. If he was on the out, he would be enjoying the fresh air of the countryside.
